life group courtesies

We're excited that you've decided to give this Life Group a try! We hope that you have lots of fun, and that you'll be delighted in the close friendships and sense of family that will develop over the year. You can also expect that you'll be challenged and nurtured in your growing walk with Christ. Most of all, may God be honored and pleased by what takes place in our Life Group.

Our group embraces the following courtesies. At the heart of any courtesy is putting the interest of others above your own, or "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you". That is why we aim to excel in being reliable in little things.

  1. Be as consistent as you can. We realize conflicts will arise…just let us know. Otherwise we'll assume you're coming to each meeting.

  2. Be as prompt as possible. We'll start Life Group meetings on time whether or not everyone is there yet. Don't feel bad if you are running late - we still want you to come! Our typical group agenda is as follows:

    • 7:00 Get started, icebreaker
    • 7:15 Discussion
    • 7:45 Prayer
    • 8:30 Meeting over (followed by social time over munchies for those who have a few minutes to hang out)

  3. When we trade off hosting the group, plan ahead as much as possible.

  4. Please treat information shared in discussion and prayer, as confidential. Unless a person gives you permission otherwise.

  5. Always feel free to approach the leaders with any concerns, questions, new ideas, or suggestions. Much of the direction and many of the ideas we implement come from the training the church provides for Life Group leaders. We're then encouraged to add our own flair and creativity to make the dynamics work for our unique group personality. Keep those ideas coming!

  6. For our couples, remember that one spouse is welcome to attend anytime, if the other has a conflict or you have sick kids.
